Museum staff and volunteers have reported sightings of 'piskies' at the Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton. It is thought that they moved in during the winter months when the museum was closed.
Experts at the museum think that their usual habitat - up on Dartmoor - was disturbed in some way, bad weather, walkers, Army activity may be and that they relocated to the museum, as it offered familiar surroundings and objects.
Museum staff say that the 'little visitors are very shy and hide in some of the darker corners of the exhibits.
"They are very well behaved and cause no trouble" reported the volunteers.
So look carefully as you walk around the exhibits at the museum, peeping into the dark corners and creases and you might just be lucky enought to catch a glimpse of these elusive 'little folk'.
